We are a Digital School!
As with literacy, numeracy and health and wellbeing, digital literacy is be placed at the heart of all learning at Carron Primary. This includes: using digital devices and services in a variety of contexts to achieve a purposeful outcome; searching, processing and managing information responsibly; and cyber resilience and internet safety.
Children and young people are required to make use of digital in almost every aspect of their lives and this will only increase as they grow. At Carron Primary, we embed the use of digital technology to enhance and provide learning and teaching experiences that develop the skills and knowledge to be able to use the devices, platforms and services that they require for life, learning and work.
We were overjoyed to receive the Digital Schools Award in August 2023 in recognition of our Digital Journey. We are delighted to share our journey with you on on X (Formerly Twitter) Feed @DigitalCarron.

Downloading Digital Skills for Future Success
"We need technology in every classroom and in every student and teacher's hand, because it is the pen and paper of our time, and it is the lens through which we experience much of our world." - David Warlick, Education Technologist.
Digital technology continues to revolutionise how we interact with the world around us - and this is even more apparent now. That is why we need to better prepare our children and young people for the future. Connected Falkirk will provide them with the general and specialist digital skills needed to thrive in an increasingly digital world. It will also assist children and young people with Additional Support Needs, and those who have English as an Additional Language, with their learning.
By providing a device that goes home with the child, families will also be digitally connected to their child's learning, improving engagement and involvement.

UK Safer Internet Day 2026
Safer Internet Day 2026 will take place on the 10th of February 2026, with celebrations and learning based around the theme ‘Smart tech, safe choices – Exploring the safe and responsible use of AI’.
Everyone’s talking about AI, and with many children and young people hearing about and using AI online, it’s important they have the skills and confidence to make safe choices when they are using smart technology.
This Safer Internet Day we are exploring the impact of AI on all of our lives, looking at how AI can be used for good, and giving advice and guidance that empowers people to use AI safely and responsibly.
Coordinated in the UK by the UK Safer Internet Centre, the celebration sees thousands of organisations get involved to promote the safe, responsible and positive use of digital technology for children and young people.
Click to view the short campaign film then test your knowledge with the Safer Internet Day Quiz for 7-11 year olds!
Finally, check out the 'Tips for Parents and Carers' and 'Guides and Resources for Parents and Carers' from the UK Safer Internet Centre, to support you as you support your child to use the internet safely, responsibility and positively..
